New Accelerometers for Crash and Impact Testing

Strainsense has announced the launch of a new range of crash and impact accelerometers developed in collaboration with Future. The new range includes accelerometers designed for both in-dummy and on-vehicle testing applications.

Calibration and Industry Compliance

All models are supplied with ISO 17025 calibration and are designed to comply with the requirements of SAE J211/J2570 and ISO 6487, supporting use in regulated crash and impact testing environments.

Range and Configuration Options

The accelerometer portfolio includes both single-axis and triaxial models, with measurement ranges spanning ±25 g to ±6000 g. A variety of configuration options are available, including custom cable lengths, connector types, transverse sensitivity specifications, and Dallas ID chip integration.

Technical Features

The accelerometers utilise piezo-resistive MEMS sensing elements and feature 10,000 g shock protection. The sensors are designed to provide a flat amplitude and phase response while maintaining shock survivability during demanding test conditions.

Supporting Automotive Test Applications

The introduction of the new range broadens Strainsense’s offering for automotive safety, crash testing, and impact measurement applications, providing additional sensor options for engineers and test laboratories.
