StrainSense have partnered with mg-sensor GmbH who are specialized in sensors that measure force, position, torque, temperature and angular rate.

Our experienced professionals design, manufacture and distribute innovative precision products for many market requirements. In the automotive sector we offer a variety of sensors for crash test dummies including Hybrid II, Hybrid III, WorldSID, THOR M, Q series, P series and military variants covering frontal, side and rear impact.

Sensors are supplied ready to use fully calibrated in accordance to DAkkS-DKD /DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, fitted with customer specified connectors and wiring configurations, many common types are supplied within 30 days.
Dummy upgrades, servicing, recalibration and certification can also be carried out.

Our comprehensive range of LVDT sensors

LVDT’s offer a frictionless non contact solution to linear position measurements.  Linear Variable Differential Transformers covering +/-0.6 to +/-250mm are supplied in a variety of packaging to suit challenging environments. Hermetically sealed stainless steel housings are available with up to IP68 with connectors.  These displacement sensors are typically used in position feed-back and monitoring systems.

HIGH TEMP LVDT

Environmental temperatures of -20 to + 200C  can be withstood continuously by the MHR-T Series LVDT, this combined with lightweight cores ensures that the unit can be reliably used for high velocity oscillating measurements.  Measurement ranges of +/-0.6 to +/-25mm are available in unusually short packaging.

The +/-2.5mm stroke unit is currently available from stock.

 

COMPACT GAUGING PROBE

The rugged range of PCA-375 Gauge Heads have a small diameter of just 9.5mm and sealing to IP66 to offer protection from cutting fluids and other contamination.  Applications include inspection systems, process control with measurement ranges -of +/-2.5 to 25mm.

 

New Marketing Leading Ultra Low Noise DC Accelerometers With Micro-g Resolution

Introducing a new market leading family of ultra low noise single and triaxial DC accelerometers offering micro-g resolution (96dB).

Features include fully hermetically sealed connectors for zero water ingress, auto zero function, ranges from +/-2g to  +/-200g, wide bandwidth DC to 1500 Hz with built in mechanical overload stops for shock protection to 5000g and designed to survive the most demanding environmental test conditions.

Linear Potentiometers Developments

Following several years of high reliability in top level autosport including Formula 1, the linear potentiometers from StrainSense are now available with a ‘lightweight’ option.  The reduction in weight is given by the use of titanium shafts in place of the stainless steel typically used.

For autosport it is mainly the 9.4mm diameter sensor, the MS-94 that is used and is available in strokes of 10-175mm with custom dimensions bering readily supplied with short leadtimes.

The above range is now available with IP67 sealing and also now with a rubber bellows option to protect the shaft from the hazardous environments encountered.

XP Family of Dynamic Pressure Sensors recently been improved to offer better performance

The XP family of Dynamic Pressure Sensors has recently been improved to offer better performance, low torque shift on installation and glass to metal header to eliminate zero shifts from cable movement. The sensors are flush mount as standard, start at M4 thread size to M10 and all feature very high dynamic frequency response up to 150 kHz. The output is mV as standard with optional 4-20mA available.

The XPM4 & XP5 are manufactured in titanium offering great performance and material compatibility, ranged from 350 mBar to 1000 Bar in absolute, gauge or sealed gauge reference. XPC10 is a high temperature variant to 220 Deg C.

The whole family have additional options including IP ratings, cable lengths, calibration voltages and compensated temperature ranges. Custom designs are available on request for combined Pressure & Temperature output, Radiation resistant, Zero outgassing, Glue dispensing and Skydrol.

As market demand increased, stocked part and sub-assemblies have been increased on the XP family to allow custom configured parts to be manufactured in 4-5 weeks.

The Dynamic Pressure Sensor family offer Stainless Steel or Titanium material options, high frequency response to 150 KHz and mV or amplified output. New enhanced designs offer zero torque shift on installation and excellent zero stability making them suitable for OEM equipment where a very small flush mount size is desired such as plastic injection or glue dispensing.

Ground Breaking Data Acquisition Software by Dewetron

Dewetron have just released Oxygen 2.0, the latest version of their ground breaking Data Acquisition Software. Oxygen is exceptionally intuitive with its interface similar to that which is used in all smartphones and tablets. In addition to offering fully synchronous data acquisition from a number of diverse sources, Oxygen enables recorded data to be reviewed while continuing to acquire more data. This function known as ‘DejaView’ is unique to Oxygen. With release 2.0 Oxygen now supports Dewetron’s range of DAQ modules as well as their cutting edge range of TRION modules.

In addition Oxygen offers multiple screen customisation, multiple trigger configuration with fast and slow logging, CAN integration, production of reports in bitmap or .pdf format and comprehensive math channel creation. A range of user orientated features which make setting up and using the software so much easier are continually being developed and set the software head and shoulders above the rest.

Dewetron have ambitious plans to make Oxygen the De facto  standard for data acquisition and primary data processing software on the market. New features will continue to be released throughout 2016.
