Angular Rate / Gyro

Ranges of angular rate sensors for measurements of rotation from ±50 to ±24,000°/sec. Single and triaxial units are available with analog and digital outputs. Angular rate sensors are typically used in rapid rotation applications such as automotive crash testing, aerospace testing, pedestrian impact, rollover testing, motorsports and biomechanics. A gyro (gyroscope) is a device typically used for measuring or maintaining orientation, eg platform stability, biomechanics and robotic systems. Six degree of freedom measurements (6-DOF) are used to monitor both angular rotation and acceleration in three axes at the same time.

    Triaxial Rate - High Range

    The 31207B Triaxial Rate Gyro is capable of sensing angular rate around three orthogonal axes. Fully temperature compensated analog outputs are available for the X,Y and Z axes.

    Triaxial Rate - Low Range

    The 12206AC rugged uniaxial angular rate gyro is capable of accurately measuring angular rate under varied environmental conditions.Its tough, compact housing holds potted electronics and a shielded cable.     Uniaxial Rate - Digital

    The GY407D is the first rate gyro to support SCPI-like commands, return data in engineering units, and works with an ASCII terminal emulator. It also perfoms basic functions such as evaluating minimum, maximum, magnitude and peak-to-peak. The output is configurable by the customer - choose number of axes, units returned, bandwidth, sample rates, function specifics, and analysis results.  The sensor also contains a temperature sensor, microcontroller and analog outputs and is small and easy to install.

    Triaxial Rate Sensor

    The Model 603 is a small, lightweight triaxial rate sensor designed for high impact testing. The sensor utilizes reliable silicon MEMS sensing elements with custom electronics in angular rate ranges of ±500 to ±24,000deg/sec. This model is packaged in a shock resistant housing specifically designed for critical measurement applications.

    Uniaxial Rate - Temp Stable

    An advanced differential sensor design rejects linear acceleration and vibration influences, making the 11207AC Angular Rate Gyro extremely stable, even in high shock and vibration environments. It has a tough, compact housing which holds potted electronics and a shielded cable. Its cubical form allows mounting with the sensing axis oriented in any direction.  

    The voltage output  is directly proportional to the rotational rate about its axis. The DC-coupled output is fully scaled, referenced, and temperature compensated.  When used in demanding temperature environments, gain compensation makes this model one of the most accurate angular rate gyros available and the facility to interchange individual sensors makes it perfect for high volume use.
