Dead end loads can be measured in several ways. A shear pin can be inserted into a clevis, a loadlink can be mounted in series with the rope, a clamp on transducer can measure the tension in the rope and can be mounted at any convenient point, or a hollow load cell can be used with the rope fed through it.
